ASHLEY AMBER PHOTO 2017 YEAR IN REVIEW.... A Year Full of Memories

At the beginning of this year I was itching to take my camera out and connect with people again! I couldn't have told you last January what an amazing journey my business would take this year, it was beyond what I could've imagined.
Clocking in at over a dozen families, 10 little babies and over 10 thousand, yes THOUSAND photos taken.  It was truly a year for the record books.
I've boiled it down to an amount your scrolling thumb can handle and let me tell you... that was a difficult process because the families I got to see through my lens this year are just amazing in so many ways, I love capturing what makes them all unique and I can't thank them enough!

So cue the scroll, here is the best of 2017, in no particular order....!

Newborn Twins Come Home in Time for Christmas in Columbia, SC

I had the pleasure of meeting Kelly and Brian this week and their two newborns, Willow and Liam.   Both Willow and Liam arrived a lot earlier than planned, and Kelly told me, they spent 71 days in the NICU.  71 days driving to the hospital, parking in the parking lot, and 70 days leaving empty handed.  But then, after these two strong fighters were finally ready, they got to bring them home to the boxes of gifts, the nursery with two cribs waiting, their initials hanging overhead.

When I met them this week they were almost 4 months old but have an adjusted age of about a month, they are strong and observant and know exactly how to get what they want from mommy and daddy. :) They aren't the only strong ones though, their parents were just amazingly in sync and a joy to watch as they stepped through the routines of feeding and changing and tending to both their needs.

I worked with each baby separately going based on their moods in the moment and they were both pretty sleepy during their solo show.  But when we put them together, Liam was suddenly awake and alert and not up for cuddling with his sister.  His dad was commentating the whole time which was funny as he narrated Liam telling Willow to wake up and smile for the camera as she grabbed her brother to nuzzle him a little more in her slumber.

Kelly and Brian, you are both amazing to have gone through so much in the last few months and be all smiles on the other side of my camera, I am humbled to have captured these new moments for you as a family and I look forward to seeing these two grow up.!  While those 71 days were some of the longest, the next few years will go by at the speed of light.

Modern Mom Tara in a Downtown Greenville Urban Maternity Shoot

When Tara was pregnant with her first she was up and down with bed rest for weeks and we never got to do maternity photos.  I was so excited when we found out she was expecting her second and I was ready to do something completely new and fresh for her session that would match her chic and modern style.  I knew Downtown Greenville would be a great spot for us with all of the mixed new and old buildings as our backdrop for a really cool urban vibe to capture her last trimester of pregnancy with her second little boy.

Thanks so much for letting me try something new and different for your maternity session Tara, these photos came out incredible!  Hang in there these last few weeks and take good care of that little man! (Both of them!)

Christmas Farm Family Photos with The Harding Family

Have a look at this adorable Christmas Tree farm session we did with the most adorable family and now friends ! You may remember these three from their newborn session (and the cover of our new website) but this little girl is growing up so fast! We had a great time catching up on the last few months and introducing them to Avery who apparently kisses baby’s hands and pets their heads, I can’t make this stuff up!

Thank you guys so much for letting us capture these milestones for your family!
