Sunday Series: Smokey Mountains

Happy Sunday!  Ahhhh these are the weekends that are perfect!  I'm on the back porch, it's 74 degrees and partly cloudy, I love you Greenville, spring is finally here! So my sunday series for this week is actually what we did last Sunday (so I'm a week off)... 74 degrees was not part of that weekend!  However, Ed and I met up with some friends from RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) where we went to college and we rented a cabin near Gatlinburg TN right outside the Smokey Mountains.  This place has it all.. and its own little charm...

We were aiming to go to Chimney Rock but on our drive up... realized, it was kind of still winter in the mountains!  We ended up on a trail that started as a massive mud pit and by the top... complete ice and snow! But it lead to a really cool rock called the 'Arch Rock' that has basically been through so many flash freeze cycles the inside has eroded away.  So now you can walk completely through it up a staircase, that was covered in glare ice, but we made it!

After we did the necessary things to do when renting a cabin in the middle of the woods... campfire, fireworks, and S'MORES!! Mmmm...

All in all, it was a really fun weekend!  We already started listing ideas of where we can meet up next!  I can't wait !
