I feel so privelaged in my job! Not only do I get to be treated like 'one of the family' on a wedding day but I get a sneak preview into the bride's world at their bridal session where I get to see.... the dress! Yay! Often times the bridal sessions are left on a hard drive or far away in a facebook album because somehow the brides pick just ONE for display at the reception. So I've decided to start asking my brides (after the wedding day) to relive all of the moments leading up to their wedding day and tell us about the best parts and best advice. So let's get started with Amanda! Her and Jack were married at the Goodall Enviromental Studies center in front of a gorgeous waterfall and so Amanda knew this is where we would spend the day for our bridal session. We had a gorgeous sunny day and Amanda came with lots of accessories that were just so perfect for the setting. Here is what Amanda had to say.... (PS thank you Amanda for taking the time, we really appreciate it!)

How did you and Jack meet? We both attended Wofford College and graduated in 2008. We were great friends in school, even lived next door to each other senior year, but we didn't start dating until a year after we graduated!
How long were you engaged? 9 months, almost to the day
What was your favorite part about being engaged? The love and support that you receive from your family and friends is unbelievable! The parties that are thrown for you and the gifts you receive give you the opportunity to see everyone and thank them for all they have done for you and your relationship with your fiance.
What was your most special detail from your wedding day? Our ceremony program was a definite highlight! It featured fun facts about us like a "Supported by" section for our pets and how many days it took to plan the wedding, it listed our wedding party and how long we'd known each one of them, and a special thanks to friends and family who helped us pull of the perfect day.
What was important to you when selecting a wedding photographer? That we looked like ourselves! We didn't want a lot of editing or effects, and just wanted our photos to be classic and timeless. Our friends Kinli and Matt had used Ashley Amber Photo for their wedding, and on their high recommendation, plus seeing their fabulous work, we booked them right away!
What are your most cherished photos from your wedding day or other sessions? We did our engagement photos, bridal session, and wedding photos with Ashley Amber Photo, and I'm not sure we could pick a favorite! We were so nervous to do the engagement session, but Ashley and Ed put us right at ease. I will never forget my bridal session - the first time you pull together the whole look and see a picture is unforgettable. And our wedding photos couldn't have turned out any better!
How did you find your dress and know it was "the one"? My plan was to go shopping twice with two sides of my family. The first trip, I found one and almost purchased it, but the store informed me it was double the price they'd said, which put it out of my budget. The second trip, I felt pressured (by myself!) to find one, and did make a purchase. Almost immediately, I started thinking about the original dress, the one outside of my budget, and I couldn't shake it. So I went online and found it secondhand in Atlanta, drove down there without telling anyone, and bought it! I'm still working on selling the one I purchased during the second trip, but hands down, it was the best decision I could have made!
What did you enjoy about doing your bridal session? Pulling the whole look together and seeing a picture was incredible. Ashley sent me a sneak peek that night, and I swear I was looking at it 100 times a day! It was exactly what I pictured myself looking like, but even better.
One small bit of advice to a future bride? You'll get a lot of advice. Take it in and use what you can. We heard "Prepare for something to go wrong", "You'll never get to eat at your own reception", and "You won't get to talk to everyone you want to." I say, you make it how you want it! We were prepared for things to go wrong and grateful that they didn't, we ate to our hearts content during the reception, and we talked to everyone we wanted to! It's your day, make it like you want it.
